The Transitions Program aims to identify the strengths and interests of participants as they take part in employment and meaningful community involvement beyond high school. This program provides a full year of classroom learning, enriching community volunteerism, job shadowing, and onsite paid work experience to build the confidence, interests and resumes of participants. Participants are paired in groups of 3 and take part in the Transitions Program for 3 hours a day, 3 days a week. The program includes a 3-month onsite paid work experience (9 hours a week) from January-March with ASNL’s social enterprise The Pantry Café and Gardens as well as the opportunity to take part in WHIMS and Emergency First Aid trainings.
The Employment Works Program is a 12 week-long program designed for individuals who want to enter or return to the workforce, and who are interested to developing and practicing the skills needed for successful employment.
