About
The YMCA has been part of life in Newfoundland and Labrador since 1854. We are a charity dedicated to strengthening the foundations of communities. We do this by nurturing the potential of children, teens, and young adults; promoting healthy living; and fostering social responsibility. Our focus on inclusiveness and accessibility means we serve people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities through all stages of life. n
The Central Labrador YMCA began a phased opening in July 2021 and the ribbon cutting ceremony to officially mark the facility open was held in September 2021. The building is owned by the Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay and is operated by the YMCA of Newfoundland and Labrador. This wellness centre includes a health and wellness area, an indoor walking track, a child care centre with up to 60 spaces, and a competition-sized swimming pool. Programs and services may vary by region.
